1. General
1.1 These regulations for the NYLC certification examination describe the general framework for conducting examinations by the GECS Examination Body and EDU STANDARDS. They are adapted and revised to follow international examination standards and to ensure the quality of service provision.
1.2 Participation in the NYLC examination implies acceptance of the examination regulations and the decisions of the examination body. The participation of minor candidates implies the full consent of their parents/guardians by signing a solemn declaration.
1.3 The regulations are available in electronic form. All those involved in the examination process must follow the regulations and the instructions of the examination body.
1.4 The examination body provides equal opportunities and does not discriminate anyone in any way in taking part in theexamination.
2. Participation and Registration in the Examination
2.1 To participate and register in the examination candidates and collaborating institutions complete the corresponding application with the candidates’ details and send their identity and examination fees no later than one week prior to the examination.
2.2 Candidates, their teachers or collaborating institutions are responsible for correctly entering their personal details in the registration application as well as for selecting the date and level. Candidates must receive the information about the duration, structure and regulations of the examination at least three days before the examination.
2.3 The examination body has the exclusive right to set examination dates and manage the examination material as well as the right to videotape, record and photograph candidates in the written and oral examinations to ensure the quality of the examinations.
2.4 By submitting their application and before the examination date, candidates declare that they have read and comply with the examination regulations.
2.5 EDU STANDARDS does not recommend training centers for exam preparation. No special training program is required to participate in the exams.
2.6 The dates and times of the written and oral exams are listed in the candidates’ schedule and the oral exams are determined according to their needs before or after the written exams or on the same day. If candidates do not receive the exam schedule three days before the exam, they are asked to contact EDU STANDARDS or the organization through which they registered.
2.7 No changes are made to the exam date after candidates receive their oral and written schedule.
2.8 Candidates follow their schedule for the written and oral exams. For any problem regarding the exam, contact the exam supervisor. It is not allowed to leave the examination room during the entire examination. In exceptional cases, please contact the examination supervisor. Any form of offensive behavior by a candidate during the examination may lead to his exclusion from the examination.
2.9 In the event that the examination body observes irregularities, it has the right not to issue a result and to cancel the candidate’s participation. Examination fees are not refunded or transferred.
3. Candidates’ obligations
3.1 Candidates must have an internet connection and follow the connection instructions sent to them with their schedule for the written and oral examinations. On the day of the examination, they must show their identification card. For any problem regarding the examination, please contact the examination supervisor. It is not allowed to leave the examination room during the entire examination. In exceptional cases, please contact the examination supervisor.
3.2 During the written examination, each examinee must respect the rules for its smooth conduct, following the instructions of the invigilators and avoiding any disturbance to the other examinees. Any form of offensive behavior by a candidate during the examination is a good reason for exclusion from the examination.
3.3 In the event that the examination body observes irregularities such as copying, the candidate will be excluded from the examination. Examination fees are not refunded or transferred.
3.4 Every electronic device (except the computer with which the candidates participate in the examination) must be deactivated at the beginning of the examination, otherwise the candidate will be automatically excluded from the examination.
4. Special conditions
4.1 For requests for special examination conditions, candidates must submit the relevant supporting documents for approval by the examination body at least 3 weeks before the examination.
The supporting documents must refer to the candidate’s current situation and not to previous years.
4.2 The institution may approve or reject the request if the medical report does not accurately describe the condition of the examinee, if it deems that he/she can take the exam under normal conditions without affecting his/her performance, or if the modifications are not possible in an online exam.
5. Personal data – Identity
5.1 EDU STANDARDS has access to the following indicative personal data of the candidates: name, surname, father’s name, date of birth, ID/passport number, mobile phone number and e-mail address. The specific data is collected, stored and processed only for the purpose of the service provided (examination and assessment service).
5.2 On the day of the exam, the candidate’s ID card, valid passport or identity certificate with a photograph of the candidate stamped by the competent authorities is checked.
Candidates are not allowed to take the exam if they do not have any of the above documents. In case of doubt about the candidate’s identification, the exam officials have the right to request additional documents.
Misleading identification is a criminal offense and grounds for exclusion from the exam.
6. Security of the process
6.1 It is strictly forbidden to photograph, videotape, copy, intercept and publish exam material that is protected by the law on intellectual property rights without the written permission of the examination body.
6.2 It is forbidden to use notes, dictionaries or other helpful material during the exam. Conversation and any communication with other people during the exam is prohibited.
6.3 For the security of the process, EDU STANDARDS reserves the right to resort to any legal means if it suffers damage or moral harm from non-compliance with the regulations.
6.4 The results of the examinations are available no later than 15 days after the examination date and are final and irrevocable. The certificates are sent to the candidates or their representatives as soon as they are available from the examination body. There is a charge in case of re-issuance of the certification due to loss or damage.
6.5 If for any reason the examination is interrupted, cancelled or postponed due to the fault of the examination body, a new examination will be scheduled.
7. Document management
The documents submitted to the examination body electronically and the examination material remain for 2 months after the examination date, at which time they are deleted.
